Shigeru Miyata OC Shigeru's "magic" is completely different to his own, yet it helped back when they first met and Merlin wasn't quite as willing to show off his own abilities just in case this place was just as likely to kill him for it. They're living together now though, much to Shigeru's disdain he's sure. Sorry for leaving shirts or whatever everywhere... During the stint while they were trapped in the dark side of the city Merlin made him panic by telling him the ground collapsed but he made sure they were both safe this time--even if it did lead to sharing some unpleasant memories. Roomies should know everything about one another though, right? 1. Meeting: "I'm okay. I guess we were thrown out of that game." 2. Carnival: "Clearly you need to try harder!" 3. Dark side of the city: "But oh am I glad to see you."

Athena Cykes Ace Attorney "It's complicated" is probably the best way to start this. They're definitely friends, but with his sense of humor (awful) he ends up upsetting her half the time and ends up having to make it up to her. Then again, the way she switches moods gives him emotional whiplash as well. Who cries over a story about a unicorn? Who cries that someone they know had to eat rat once? This girl, that's who. Still, when he isn't bullying her she's pretty bubbly and it's easy to get pulled into that. She makes life a bit of a rollercoaster. Never trust a mask and definitely never trust a room full of mirrors. The last event he worried over her after she froze up after seeing both of their memories on full display. He had to knock her out with magic and get her out of there, leading to a rather emotionally draining (yet somehow intimate) talk about things that have happened in their lives. Athena made him promise to come out of this event alright, and even gave him her moonstone earring for safe keeping which he turned into a necklace. Gross. In return, he created a butterfly that would follow her when they separated. Let's not talk about post-event. 1. First meeting: "...I finally get a day off." 2. Inbox challenge: "I wouldn't want you to back out." 3. Carnival: "Okay then, I'm driving!" 4. It's time to d-duel: "Though I have to say, if I lose I really don't think that's my colour." 5. Gate of Thirst: "0" 6. Post it's that shall never be linked 7. Dark side of the city: "I'm with you." 8. Dude, where's my money? "Just two :)"

Ai Thao Kha OC He still doesn't know her all that well, but considering they work together now that should change! From what he's talked to her about he definitely thinks she's definitely a genuinely nice person though and seems to be pretty optimistic which is always a good thing. Watch this space. While underground she revealed her own abilities, but also kept him company even when he fell face first into the mud. They explored together, and tried to avoid the water simply because he's already been electrocuted once, he doesn't need it again! After ... came pudding. :) 1. Gate of Thirst: Those are actually clothes? 2. Dark side of the city: "And how long have you been able to do that?! 3. Post-Trauma: "I have pudding."

Himeko Inaba CANON He still doesn't know her all that well, but considering they work together now that should change! Especially as she's giving him A+ tips on which cakes to try at the cafe. 1. Inbox: "On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate the spaghetti at the cafe?"

Ema Skye Ace Attorney The girl who taught him about bubblegum and soda, someone just as sweet as those things too, honestly. Her fascination with science reminds him of Gaius in some ways, which is a nice reminder of home even if she might never realise. On top of that she gets so excited when he does anything magical that it's super refreshing and amazing to show off in front of her. Someone please stop him. He definitely considers her a good friend already. She reacted so well when he told her about how hard things were at home, too. During the event he took care of her and Edgeworth to make sure they at least had something to drink and eat. There's no way he'd want her to die of thirst or starvation. 1. Meeting: "I'm pretty sure something died in there." 2. Carnival: "Physics don't work like this!!!!!" 3. Dark side of the city: "Which do you prefer, tomatoes or apples?"

Arthur Kirkland Hetalia What do you get when you put two socially awkward people together? Granted, Merlin is way chattier and more outgoing by a long shot, but there was a minute there where it was pretty touch and go. He doesn't really know much about England at the moment, but hopefully that will change in the future. England introduced himself as "Arthur" which also carries two sets of feelings anyway. Gross. 1. Carnival: "Well I wouldn't say that. He's a bit of a prat."

Caroline Forbes The Vampire Diaries He took a poison of a kind for her, she gave him blood in return then ended up super excited when his magic went out of control as a result. Honestly, they get on pretty well even if it started with trauma. She's so easy going and happy so often it's hard to not get caught up in it too. Also party planning! Woo! 1. Meeting: "If you drink this, you'll heal." 2. Inbox: "aka hotblonde poison drama girl"

Rapunzel Tangled Actual ray of sunshine. He saved her life back in the swamp when the potion she drank gave her hypothermia, and then she helped him when they set the microwave on fire. When will there not be fire, honestly? One day they'll get things right. Hopefully she never realises he cheated at hide and seek. (and hopefully one day she'll admit her crush on Jaune u//u) She tried to "rescue" him from the ruin robot things at the top in the dark city but almost made things worse. He dragged her away and passed out on the floor, only to find out that she'd healed him and was going wacky from the effects of everything. With Pascal's blessing he knocked her out. 1. Trash: "If they're after anyone, they're after you. I bet you're a thief too!" 2. Meeting: "You! The... thief from the compost heap!" 3. Hide & Seek: "Is there more than one grocery store, Merlin..." 4. Gate of Thirst: "I say that because every imperfection you think you have is a part of you." 5. Dark side of the city: "You don't have to be the hero every time, Merlin."

Rei Hino Sailor Moon In a way Rei acts like an anchor. She knows of him yet she doesn't treat him like anyone special really either, and with her own abilities he feels like she understands him a lot better than most. She also is capable of putting him in his place. Atta girl. He saw her become Mars during the event and was overwhelmed by her power along with being shocked because she said she didn't possess much ability. A loophole in that was that it wasn't her, and it's still a bit difficult to process. It's fine though, she's still someone he can depend on, and someone who understands his own position more than most. She's one of his most trusted people here. 1. Meeting: "I'm a priestess. I have some magical talent, because of that." 2. Carnival: "I'm still learning." 3. Dark side of the city: "Who she was doesn't really matter anymore, does it?"

Lady Lili Akatsuki no Yona A tidal wave of tsundere. Not that he knows what tsundere actually is. When they met he pissed her off then hopefully managed to apologise properly by giving her a water lily he conjured from the ground and helped her move around the swamp with guidance. Then there's the whole thing with the masks where he's being entirely too carefree and pigheaded. She's in the right to worry about this shit, honestly. He should be more understanding. He learned a little more about her while in the dark part of the city... but it's the same in reverse. He aided her by giving her food and water after she watched out for him while he conked out on the floor. They then presumed to venture into a world of pain(TM). 1. Trash: "Are you mad?! It can hear you!" 2. Intro: "Are you always this quick to judge people?" 3. Dark side of the city: "Don't misjudge me.... I won't leave you alone after you've collapsed!"

Chibi Islands of Wakfu Chibi's world confuses the living daylights out of him, yet also fascinates him at the same time. He'd really like to learn more, especially as he continues to study his own magic but also magic of other worlds and places. Combining them might be possible one day, who knows? Also, he seems like a pretty cool guy. They communicated telepathically while Chibi tried to find his way around, which is something that's probably going to come up later. He was definitely relieved he was alright though. 1. Meeting: "So no, we generally do not have only one heir." 2. Telepathy: "-What in-- Are you in-- head, how the hell am I suppos-- Okay, I've got it, I've got--"

Iris/Ayame Fey Ace Attorney A shy girl he met in the swamp when he first arrived and ended up teasing about the prom she went to after she brought up that she had a good evening with someone there. He ships it, and he doesn't even know who this other person is. Ah. After that they hanged out at the carnival where he saved her from the carnival animals and gave her a piggy back to safety. She made him promise he'd ask for help to round them up and stop the stampede. He still doesn't know her name, though this time he had an easier time helping her out. She didn't want to see the altar again so they traveled up. Hopefully she keeps her promise to run so he can cover them both while they're running away from robot ruin things. 1. Meeting: "I'm sure she's proud of you. Something like that...any mother would be proud." 2. Carnival: "...promise me you won't go back alone?" 3. Dark side of the city: "See, I told you I'd be fine!"

Vietnam Hetalia Why can't she smile? Honestly seems too distant and withdrawn and he'd like to change that. It's a bit jarring, though then again him being so reckless in trying to get her to cheer up also put them in the path of the giant caterpillar. Good job, Merlin. Hello from the other siddddddddeeeee sums up their conversation from the event. Using a CereVice wasn't a good idea apparently. 1. Meetiing: "Maybe that's the way to wake up." 2. Yang Xiao Long RWBY The first time he met her he drank a poison that made him breathe fire and she had to haul his ass out of the shack. The second time was much less embarrassing and they ended up rounding up all the carnival animals and got everyone to safety pretty well. On the grand scheme of things though, he doesn't really know her that well. She's a bit of a mystery. 1. Meeting: "Uh. Yeah, that should get you all... fired up?" 2. Carnival: "... Guess it's time to clean up a little."

Rise Kujikawa Persona 4 He met her at the carnival and they went on a search for Aria to try and find out about the masks and hopefully return them. Bad luck there though, when the natives and carnival staff jerked away and refused to talk to them. What started as optimism at its finest ended up with both of them pretty downbeat. She seems like a nice girl though. Turns out this sweet girl has some sweet abilities. There was some relief for them both when she replied to his reach out for others with telepathy, especially as he was already with her friend. 1. Carnival: "...Maybe it got up and walked away?" 2. Telepathy: "He's still conscious right?"

Jaune Arc RWBY An embarrassment. To be fair, Merlin's only spoken to him once and that was on a "hot or not" post where he judged Jaune for starting his 'thread' with "a natural blonde" like it actually mattered to get attention. Rapunzel's boyfriend 1. Gate of Thirst: "Is that supposed to be a chat up line?"

Miles Edgeworth Ace Attorney He reeeeally probably shouldn't have tried to rile Pess up into disobeying Edgeworth, but at the time it seemed like trying to make the lawyer see that not all fun is bad was a good idea. Now, they're doing okay after the last event where Merlin gave him and Ema water and food to keep them going. Fingers crossed for the future in that Edgeworth will stop getting angry at him (but how likely is that? 1. Park meeting: "You wouldn't happen to be an old man, would you?" 2. Dark side of the city: "Which do you prefer, tomatoes or apples?"

Viridi Kid Icarus: Uprising She was hardly someone he expected someone to communicate back via telepathy while they were trapped underground. In fact, finding out she was a supposed Goddess of Nature was difficult to believe, but given everything he's seen here he won't discount it. Especially not when she was willing to help and she seemed upset by how the world has changed. 1. Telepathy: "Let me tell you something, Merlin. When you get home, rummage up a few extra offerings for your earth mother."

Yu Narukami Persona 4 There's nothing like falling on someone to start a friendship. Luckily Yu responded when he was panicking and heard his call there too, and they worked together to try and support others while they were trapped underground. He seems like a decent guy. 1.
