Then if he ever shows up I'll ask, shall I? [ Fay pls ]
She must mean a lot to you then. But what about here? Anyone you've made friends with yet? [ Other than him and Charlie, of course. He knows about those. ]
Feel free to! [And then feel free to possibly arrange Fay's funeral afterwards.]
It's been quite some time since I was in a position to be somewhere long enough to make friends, but I'd like to think I'm making some progress here and there.
It is good, and I'm happy to meet new people. We're usually traveling so often that I don't get the chance to become very close to anyone new I meet, so it's a bit of different experience, too.
There is. Before, it was to find something, and now... well, I'm content to be a traveling magician and the others have their reasons. [He lifts one shoulder apologetically, because that's really not much of an answer.]
To find something? Does that mean you found it now? If your reasoning changed? [ It's actually more than Fay might realise. Merlin doesn't even have to dig for the wrong thing now. ]
It must be really weird to have stopped moving now.
I don't think you're going to have much of a choice either way. It doesn't seem like there's a specific pattern to people who come or leave this place.
It doesn't work like that though. You'd return to the exact same point in time. At least, people have gone back then returned and it was like that for them.
...I don't think you'd miss them, if that's what you're worried about.
It would be a shame not to remember the people I've met here, of course, but perhaps that's also easier on those who have left. But if any of them ever arrive, I'll be sure to introduce you! I think you would get along well with everyone.
[What's that, it's time to mostly gloss over That Time?? It sure is, Merlin, it sure is.]
Mm, well, between actually working and being social otherwise, there haven't been many opportunities for just chatting. I do hope we continue to have chances to talk, though; I think I would enjoy that.
[He beams, delighted that Merlin is actually willing to do something again, though hopefully with less... interesting results.]
No, no, not the same way as last time. Once was enough, I think. Something a little safer would be fun, though. [He considers.] What do you do for fun?

Well she is a princess, they have... responsibilities. But you must miss her.
no subject
I do miss her, of course, but how can I put it? Knowing that I'll get to see her again makes it a little easier to bear.

Well that's good to hear! I mean there are a lot of us trapped here, so it's good that you are.

It certainly keeps us busy, at least.

It's not too strange. And I'm okay with the idea of waiting for a while in one place, if that's what I have to do.

It's a slow day, for sure, but it gives me a chance to talk with you, so I can't say I mind it too much.

But he definitely grins at Fay's response. ]
I know what you mean. Despite working together, we haven't really talked much, have we? Well, other than... that time.
[ [bleak] ]

Me too. We could go out again at some point? Maybe... not in the same way as last time though. [ sweats tbh ]

It really was, I was a mess the next day. Though... nothing really? [ He doesn't exactly sound convincing when he glances away, does he? ]
