[He blinks, genuinely surprised.] That would be wonderful. I'd like that a lot, actually. Are you sure you won't get sick of seeing me at work and texting?
I do that with other people too. What's the problem? [ Fay, I think you underestimate his ability to talk... about pretty much anything. ] Besides, you probably understand everything to do with this-- [ He indicates to the shop, meaning magic ] --than most people.
No problem, it's just nice of you to offer. [He nods agreeably, though he does shrug slightly as well.] Though, whether it's here or through text, I certainly don't mind discussing magic, either.
[He leans back on the counter, tilting his head slightly.]
I've been settling in as well as can be expected, I think. It's difficult, not having my companions here with me, but I'm sure many people here feel the same way. [He considers.] Though I do like being able to read things on this world, that's new.
Who are they? You're companions, I mean. [ He leans back on his chair to look at Fay properly. He leaves his CereVice on the table, and if Fay looks it over now he might find the same person is sending the texts at the moment.
Really though, he's interested to hear about Fay's life pre-Cerealia. ]
[He does glance at the CereVice, but only for a moment, since it's not really his main focus.]
Well, there's Kuro-min, who is sometimes a scary ninja, but is mostly tall, dark, and grumpy. [Sorry not sorry, Kurogane.] Syaoran is a good kid; he's very earnest and one of the smartest people I've ever met. Mokona is... [Fay makes a gesture: one hand flat, palm up, and the other a few inches above it and curved so that he's indicating a roughly round shape.] Mokona. Our translator and, you could say, our mascot.
[He smiles faintly, dropping his hands.] There's a princess we're all very fond of too. We visit her as much as we can.
There's a few of you, then? Though... [ He gives Fay a smile. ] Why do I get the feeling Kuro-min isn't his real name? [ Fay what kind of gay description is that??? ]
There's a few of us, yes. [It is the best and most accurate description how dare. He shrugs, not ashamed in the least for using a ridiculous nickname.] It's Kurogane, but he likes the silly names more.
[He shakes his head.] The princess has to stay in her own country for certain reasons, so she no longer travels with us.
Then if he ever shows up I'll ask, shall I? [ Fay pls ]
She must mean a lot to you then. But what about here? Anyone you've made friends with yet? [ Other than him and Charlie, of course. He knows about those. ]
Feel free to! [And then feel free to possibly arrange Fay's funeral afterwards.]
It's been quite some time since I was in a position to be somewhere long enough to make friends, but I'd like to think I'm making some progress here and there.
It is good, and I'm happy to meet new people. We're usually traveling so often that I don't get the chance to become very close to anyone new I meet, so it's a bit of different experience, too.
There is. Before, it was to find something, and now... well, I'm content to be a traveling magician and the others have their reasons. [He lifts one shoulder apologetically, because that's really not much of an answer.]
To find something? Does that mean you found it now? If your reasoning changed? [ It's actually more than Fay might realise. Merlin doesn't even have to dig for the wrong thing now. ]
It must be really weird to have stopped moving now.
I don't think you're going to have much of a choice either way. It doesn't seem like there's a specific pattern to people who come or leave this place.
It doesn't work like that though. You'd return to the exact same point in time. At least, people have gone back then returned and it was like that for them.
...I don't think you'd miss them, if that's what you're worried about.
